On August 22nd, 2022, a meeting was held with Prof. Jamaluddin Jompa, president of Hasanuddin University in Makassar, Indonesia. Prof. Nagatsu Kazufumi (Representative of Toyo University Site), and two Core Researchers; Dr. Nakano Makibi (National Institutes for the Humanities, Toyo University) and Dr. Nishikawa Kei (Toyo University) joined to discuss the Maritime Asia and Pacific Studies (MAPS). In this meeting, Prof. Dorothea Agnes Rampisela (Hasanuddin University), Ms. Nur Abu (Muhammadiyah University of Sorong), and other researchers also joined and shared future research plans.
President Jamaluddin, who is also a specialist in marine ecology, showed a deep understanding of the project, and we were able to have fruitful discussions.
